Live Koi Shipping
All shipments are guaranteed overnight service via UPS Next Day Air. UPS guarantees arrival by 10:30 AM for most locations in the United States. Particularly rural or remote locations may have a guaranteed arrival time of noon or “by end of day”. Shipments arriving on Saturday will have a guaranteed arrival time of 12 PM or 1:30 PM. We review all shipments and their respective guaranteed delivery times in order to package each shipment properly. Feel free to Contact Us for help determining your guaranteed arrival time.
Shipping cost is at a flat rate and includes all of the items listed on the order, the final cost depends on your location. Live shipping costs are as follows:

You have the option to add a Climate Shield Insulated Liner to your shipment for an additional $10, or a Nature Safe Biodegradable Liner for $12. Both types of liner help to protect your fish from extreme high and low temperatures during transit.
The shipping charge for your state allows us to package your fish in the most efficient methods that are 100% safe and secure for your fish. If you have special instructions on how you would like your fish packaged, we can accommodate you, but we require that you pay any extra shipping cost. During the checkout process, you will be required to choose the date of arrival for your order.
You may choose any day Tuesday thru Saturday for your order to arrive, with the exception of the following holidays, and the day immediately following each holiday:

- Thanksgiving Day
- Day After Thanksgiving
- Christmas
- New Year’s Eve
We have a maximum quantity of orders that can be shipped each day. Once the order limit quantity is reached, the corresponding date of arrival can no longer be chosen during checkout.
UPS applies a surcharge of $15 to any shipment arriving on Saturday, and this surcharge will be added to your order total when a Saturday delivery date is selected. Saturday delivery is not available for every zip code in the US. Contact us to check on the availability of Saturday delivery in your zip code.
You will receive a confirmation email or email on the afternoon that your order is shipped. You will also receive an email from UPS containing the tracking number for your shipment.

Getting started bidding in Koi auctions or purchasing koi:

Colossal Koi – Terms of Agreement
Your bid is an agreement to all the terms of the Auction Policy and Shipping Terms
1. ALL SALES FINAL
Your bid is an agreement to purchase an item if your bid for a koi becomes the winning bid. Approval for cancellation of a winning bid is at the sole discretion and approval of Colossal Koi. A restocking fee of 20 percent of the winning bid will be assessed for all cancellations.
2. PAYMENT
Payments must be completed within 3 business days (Monday through Friday) starting on the day after the end of each auction. For example, if the auction closes on Sunday, payment must be received by Wednesday. If the auction closes on Wednesday, payment must be received by the following Monday.
Colossal Koi is required to collect sales tax from transactions. This includes sales on Colossal Koi auctions, eBay auctions, and koi and pond supplies.
3. KOI HEALTH GUARANTEE
All koi purchases are final, and shipping charges for koi are nonrefundable.
After you win or buy a koi, we guarantee its health while it is located at the farm for a 14-day holding period (special situations will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis).
Upon receiving your koi, as long as your koi was shipped within that 14-day holding period, we guarantee its life for 24 hours after you receive and quarantine it (see exemptions below).
We strive to ensure smooth delivery of your koi; but if you experience a problem with your delivery, please:
- Send us photos of your koi if they are sick or DOA (dead-on-arrival) and any damaged packaging

These steps will help us recommend koi treatments if necessary and expedite any claims or refunds.
Shipping charges for koi are nonrefundable, and we cannot be responsible for delayed carrier deliveries or flights because that is out of our control.
EXCEPTIONS TO KOI HEALTH GUARANTEE
In the following cases, our guarantee does not apply:
- When a koi is shipped after the 14-day holding period (special situations are dealt with on case-by-case basis).
- When a koi is not quarantined in a separate tank before being introduced to a new pond (see how to properly quarantine koi).
- When a koi in a customer’s tank or pond dies or is injured due to uncontrollable accidents or incidents such as jumping out of the pond, electrical shortage, predators, etc.
4. SHIPPING
Combine your Koi shipments to maximize your savings on shipping costs. During the 14-day holding period at the farm’s facility, bid and find companion Koi for your shipment.
IMPORTANT:
Each koi with a winning bid has a guaranteed health period while at the farm’s facility for 14 days. Purchasing another koi does NOT extend that holding period. If a koi becomes sick or dies AFTER the 14-day holding period at the farm’s facility, Colossal Koi will not be held liable; and no refund, store credit, or replacement will be made. If you are not able to arrange for shipping within 14 days, please contact our office by calling +1 833-888- 7294.
Refunds and store credits do not include shipping costs.
Colossal Koi is not liable for damages to the box and/or koi due to shipping. However, we will do everything we can to assist buyers with their claim to the delivery provider. Colossal Koi recommends that buyers purchase shipping insurance.
5. EXTENDED HOLDING FEE
If a Koi is held by Colossal Koi past the 14-day holding period, a holding fee of $25 per Koi per week after the 14th day will be charged to you. During the extended holding period, if a Koi becomes sick or dies, Colossal Koi will not be held liable, and no refund, store credit, or replacement will be made.
6. System Outage / Temporarily Halted Auctions
With the currently available technology, it is simply not possible to develop and operate software and data processing systems (hardware) completely without errors or to rule out any unpredictable events in connection with the internet (hereinafter referred to collectively as “technical faults”). Colossal Koi, therefore, provides no guarantee for the constant and uninterrupted availability of its website and technical systems. In addition, but not subject to, Colossal Koi will not be liable for any damage whatsoever incurred by auction users or third parties from using Colossal Koi’s services. In particular, Colossal Koi will not be liable for damage that occurs due to bids submitted by auction users not being received byColossal Koi or not being received promptly, or not being considered, as a consequence of technical faults. Any exceptions to this will be made solely at Colossal Koi’s discretion. If an entire auction is deemed to be disrupted due to a hosting or coding problem affecting all or a significant amount of users, Colossal Koi reserves the right to deem the auction null and refund any bids placed in said auction.
